Stet, for writers
Stet is a place to write a book. It saves as you type and keeps every version, so you can rewrite a chapter as often as you like and the first attempt stays where you left it. It runs in your browser, and your books stay on your device. Stet needs JavaScript to run.
How Stet works
- Saved as you write, every few seconds, on your device.
- Versions kept: name a version when a chapter feels done, and open it again later.
- Drafts for second thoughts: write another ending in a draft, then bring in the chapters that work.
- Notes that know your characters: characters and places are marked in the text.
Plans and pricing
- Free, for good: every book and the whole editor, every draft and version, PDF, Markdown and text exports, and backups to your device or a folder.
- Pro, $24 a year or $3 a month: Word and EPUB exports, your own cover images, and backups to Dropbox.
- Pro + Cloud, $36 a year or $4 a month: everything in Pro, Stet Cloud (your books saved online, end-to-end encrypted, in step on all your devices) and beta reader links. Or $60 a year to support Stet.
Prices in US dollars, with local prices in some countries and sales tax where the law requires it. Paid plans are sold by Paddle, which acts as the seller. Any payment can be refunded in full within 14 days. Stet is in a closed beta, open to writers with an invite.
